Core Values

There are five core values that guide REVO Church.
These are the things that we seek to demonstrate in everything that we do.

Love Big!

Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
-Matthew 22:37-39

If it's important to Jesus, it's important to us. When asked what the two greatest commandments were, Jesus said love both times. At REVO, we want to love God and love others, and we want to do it BIG! We want our love for God to affect everything we do. We want our attitudes and actions to reflect the love that God has given us and called us to show others. By showing this love to the city around us, we want to accurately portray an image of God stated so clearly in 1 John 5: If you know God then you love others, because God is love.

Serve Hard!

For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.
-Mark 10:45

When Jesus was doing ministry on earth, he served people. He put others above himself, helped people, and met the needs of people around him. At REVO, we want to follow this example and be a servant to the city. In James 1, true religion in the eyes of God is defined as helping and serving people who are less fortunate. We want to work with social services to help those in need, engage government leaders to help identify ways to serve the city, and unite with other churches and organizations to reclaim the voice of the Church in the community. We want the church to be proactive in meeting needs regardless of age, race, social, or financial status.

Live Bold!

When I called, you answered me. You made me bold and courageous.
-Psalm 138:3

As represented throughout the New Testament, the gospel message can sometimes be confrontational. The early church reaped great harvests and suffered intense persecution for it, but continued to preach with boldness. At REVO, we believe that the preaching of the Word of God changes lives. As stated in Acts 2, the gospel has the power to penetrate hearts and change lives. The Church is called to proclaim the Scriptures with boldness and allow the power of the Holy Spirit to use our words to draw people to Christ.

Grow Deep!

... so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.
-Colossians 1:10

A relationship with Christ is not a one-time decision. It is an ongoing relationship with God that involves prayer, dedication to Scripture, and authentic Christian community through fellowship with other believers. At REVO, we want to not only lead people into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, but also help them have a deep relationship with Him as they learn to trust God and rely on Him more and more each day. We want the church to not only make disciples of Christ, but help those disciples become disciple-makers by growing their faith and teaching them to engage their community with the gospel message.

Move Forward!

Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
-Philippians 3:12-14

We want you to move forward so that you are not the same person next year as you are today. At REVO we want to spark a revolution of life change through Jesus. A revolution is not a one-time event; it is an ongoing process. We want ongoing life change to be evident in people growing closer to Christ daily, moms and dads becoming better parents, marriages being restored, and the church growing every day, week, and year. Are you tired of doing the same thing over and over? Are you ready for a change? REVO will not settle for the status quo. We want to help people move forward in their relationship with Christ and their lives.
