Acts Chapter 1

Acts chapter one gives us two key themes. The Gospel must spread, and what we are to do while we are waiting on the Lord.

READ: Acts 1:1-8

Luke starts out Acts by giving us a scope of the Kingdom, and our job as believers.

1. In verse 8 Luke gives the scope of who the Gospel should be shared to. What is your Jerusalem? What is your Judea and Samaria? What are your ends of the earth?

2. In verses 6-8 the disciples are asking for the Kingdom of God, and Jesus replies with their job of sharing the Gospel. How does sharing the Gospel usher in the Kingdom of God?

3. Jesus told them to become His witnesses. What does it mean to be a witness to something? How can you be a witness for Jesus?

4. John 9:4 tells us that "the night is coming, and then no one can work." How does this apply to the timeline of the sharing of the Gospel?

READ: Acts 1:13-26

Luke finishes off Acts 1 by giving us some details about how to handle waiting on the Lord

5. In verses 13-14 we see we are to commit to prayer while waiting. How can you build a habit of prayer in your life?

6. In verses 15-17 we see we are to commit to the Word while waiting. How can you build a habit of reading and studying the Word in your life?

7. In verses 21-25 we see we are to commit to seeking wise counsel while waiting. Do you have people in your life that would be classified as wise council? How can you lean on them?

8. In verse 28 we see we are to trust God with the results. Is trusting God your first reaction, or your last resort? How can you make trusting in God your first resort?
